Yunnan University established the LHAASO project team as early as 2009, participated in the pre-research of the LHAASO project, and has been responsible for the research and design work of WFCTA. After the official implementation of the LHAASO project in 2015, it continued to be responsible for the development of the SiPM imaging probe of WFCTA. WFCTA is one of the four main detectors of LHAASO. It consists of 12 telescopes. It uses imaging to observe the optical signals generated by cosmic rays in the air shower, and indirectly measures the physical parameters of cosmic rays. If the WFCTA is compared to the human eye, the SiPM imaging probe is the retina and is the core device of the WFCTA.
