At the Yungang International Hotel, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Yan Yanbo met with Cai Dong, General Manager of CNHTC Group. The meeting focused on the future development of CNHTC Datong Co., Ltd., as well as broader cooperation between Datong City and CNHTC Group. Discussions centered around strategic collaboration, operational improvements, and long-term growth opportunities.
Vice Mayor Li Wuzhang and Ma Bin were also present during the meeting, highlighting the significance of the discussions. This engagement comes in the wake of a major strategic partnership signed between the municipal government and China National Heavy Duty Truck Group (CNHTC) on November 17, 2008. The agreement aimed to strengthen cooperation on key projects such as engines, superchargers, and vehicle manufacturing.
On November 18, Sinotruk Group and Dazao Group entered into a strategic reorganization and equity transfer agreement. This move was designed to enhance the efficiency of CNHTC’s transmission resources, particularly in the supply of gears and shafts. The restructured Big Gear Company is expected to meet over 150,000 units of heavy-duty gearbox demand for CNHTC within the next five years.
The reorganization has laid a solid foundation for future growth, not only for Dazhong Company but also for the broader auto industry in Shanxi and Shandong provinces. During his visit, Cai Dong and his team conducted an inspection of the large-tooth relocation and expansion project, addressing various reorganization-related issues.
During the meeting, both parties discussed key aspects such as land use, plant construction, and product positioning. Mayor Yan Yanbo emphasized that "Big Gear" is a vital asset for Datong, having found a strong partner in CNHTC. He expressed full confidence in its future development and urged the company to strictly adhere to technical standards to ensure smooth integration with CNHTC.
Looking ahead, the city will continue to support the restructuring efforts of "Big Gear," creating a favorable environment for its growth. Yan Yanbo also welcomed continued investment from CNHTC, expressing hope for even stronger cooperation in the future.
Cai Dong thanked the city for its ongoing support and praised the current performance of the Big Gear Company. He believes that with time, it will become a key player in CNHTC’s operations. Both sides remain optimistic about expanding their collaboration in the coming years.
