On Sunday afternoon, March 31, 2019, firefighters from Libertyville were called to respond to a reported fire at 232 Red Top Drive. Upon arrival, the team from the nearby Golf Road station quickly assessed the situation and discovered flames coming through the roof of the multi-family complex. The incident was soon escalated to a Box Alarm as crews shifted into a defensive position.
Despite the rapid spread of the fire, which caused significant damage to the second floor of one unit and burned off part of the roof, firefighters managed to bring the flames under control in a relatively short time. The response involved multiple fire departments, including those from Mundelein, Countryside, Lake Bluff, Gurnee, Lake Forest, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, Round Lake, and Grayslake, highlighting the coordinated effort to contain the blaze.
