On Sunday afternoon, March 31, 2019, firefighters from Libertyville were called to a reported fire at 232 Red Top Drive. Upon arrival, the team from the nearby Golf Road station quickly assessed the situation and found flames visible through the roof of the multi-family complex. The incident was soon escalated to a Box Alarm as crews transitioned to a defensive strategy.
Despite the intensity of the fire, it was brought under control relatively quickly after a section of the roof was burned away. The second floor of one unit sustained significant damage, but no injuries were reported.
