Autodesk Launches Tech Preview of Structural Analysis Platform Called React Structures

The structural engineering community is invited to experience and help shape the future of a new, efficient structural analysis environment integrated with BIM workflows

We’re excited to share some groundbreaking news for structural engineers: Autodesk React Structures is now available in public preview. This new platform is specifically designed for today’s engineers working within a Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflow. The announcement was made today during a presentation at the NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit in Las Vegas.

To understand why React Structures is such an important step forward, it's essential to look at the current industry landscape. There’s a growing need for better collaboration between engineers, fabricators, and builders as projects become more complex and construction timelines tighten. This shift is often referred to as “BIM to Fabrication.” In this context, structural engineers are looking for tools that are easy to use, integrate seamlessly with BIM, and help reduce errors and waste throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Our customers have been clear: they want a modern, efficient, and user-friendly structural analysis solution that connects directly to their BIM processes. Many feel existing tools are too difficult to learn, not intuitive enough, and lack the integration needed to support the full design-to-fabrication journey. With React Structures, we aim to go beyond what’s currently available—building on the strong foundation of Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional, but offering something far more approachable and powerful.

Powered by Autodesk’s trusted analysis technology, React Structures represents a major advancement over previous solutions. It introduces a new, workflow-based modeling environment that is not just an updated version of Robot, but a completely redesigned system using modern software principles. It’s aligned with the rest of the Autodesk ecosystem, making it easier for engineers to work across tools and platforms.

What makes React Structures truly stand out is its focus on usability. Based on extensive research into user experiences, it offers a streamlined interface that is easy to learn and use. This means more engineers can adopt it, improving productivity and delivering better designs to clients.

We’re inviting the structural engineering community to participate in the public preview of React Structures. Your feedback will play a key role in shaping the final product. Here are three key experiences you’ll get during the preview:

  • First, you’ll be able to use an intuitive 3D analysis modeler that allows you to quickly build analytical models of your designs. During development, we reduced the time required to complete typical workflows by nearly half, including analysis and result reviews. This new approach also makes it easier to make and track changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Second, you’ll test integrations with other Autodesk tools like Revit and Advance Steel, as well as explore new possibilities with Dynamo, a visual programming environment. These integrations are critical for a seamless BIM workflow.
  • Third, you’ll have access to a single analysis environment that works for all types of structures—whether steel, concrete, or timber. This flexibility ensures that React Structures can meet the needs of a wide range of projects and users.
