Autodesk Launches Tech Preview of Structural Analysis Platform Called React Structures

The structural engineering community is invited to explore and shape the future of an innovative, efficient structural analysis environment integrated with BIM workflows

Exciting news for structural engineers: Autodesk has launched a public preview of Autodesk React Structures, a new structural analysis platform designed specifically for today’s engineers working within a Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflow. We’re sharing this announcement live today at the NCSEA Structural Engineering Summit in Las Vegas.

To understand why React Structures matters, let’s take a step back. The construction industry is undergoing a major shift, driven by the need for more collaboration among engineers, fabricators, and builders. This trend—known as “BIM to Fabrication”—is reshaping how projects are designed, built, and managed. In response, structural engineers are looking for tools that not only streamline their work but also integrate seamlessly into the BIM process, reducing errors and improving efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

That’s where React Structures comes in. It’s built on the strong foundation of Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis Professional, which has been used globally on complex projects like bridges, stadiums, and high-rise buildings. But React Structures isn’t just an updated version—it’s a complete reimagining of how structural analysis can be done in a modern BIM environment.

Engineers have told us that current tools are often difficult to learn, time-consuming, and disconnected from the BIM process. React Structures aims to change that by offering a more intuitive, efficient, and connected experience. It’s built using modern software design principles and is fully aligned with the broader Autodesk ecosystem.

One of the most exciting features of React Structures is its workflow-based analysis modeling environment. This means engineers can create 3D analytical models quickly, making it easier to iterate on designs and respond to changes without sacrificing accuracy or speed. In fact, during our development phase, we reduced the time needed to complete multi-story structural workflows by nearly half.

We’re also excited about the integration possibilities. React Structures will work smoothly with other Autodesk tools like Revit and Advance Steel, and during the preview, users will have the chance to test integrations with Dynamo, the visual programming environment. This opens up new opportunities for automation and customization in the design process.

Another key benefit is that React Structures supports a wide range of materials—whether you're working with steel, concrete, or timber, the same powerful analysis environment can be used. This flexibility makes it ideal for a variety of building types and project scales.

We’re inviting the structural engineering community to join us in shaping the future of this platform. By participating in the tech preview, you’ll have the opportunity to provide feedback on three core experiences:

  • Intuitive 3D modeling: Create analytical models faster and make design changes more efficiently.
  • Seamless integration: Test how React Structures works with Revit, Advance Steel, and Dynamo.
  • Universal analysis: Analyze all types of structures—steel, concrete, or timber—in one environment.
