The R&D center at Kyiv Polytechnic University, in collaboration with Delfast, has developed a new “universal” electric bike. This innovative project was the result of six months of hard work by students from the Electrical Engineering faculty and Delfast engineers, who are now excited to present their final creation.

This e-bike is designed for everyday use, suitable for people of all ages and physical conditions. The electric motor ensures smooth and effortless movement, making it ideal for daily commutes, family trips, or even cargo transportation. According to Serhii Goncharov, Delfast’s Chief Engineer, the goal of this hybrid model is to meet the needs of users throughout the day—whether they’re pedaling manually or relying on the electric assist without fatigue or shortness of breath.

“This model is great for several reasons: high reliability, long range, and maximum simplicity and accessibility,” says Goncharov.

The team also made the e-bike smart by integrating an all-wheel drive system with intelligent control. Based on factors like load, wheel speed, terrain, and angle, the bike automatically adjusts torque distribution between the wheels, offering enhanced performance and adaptability.

The new model features a 48V30A battery and a 750W gear motor, allowing it to reach a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph). With its versatile design and advanced technology, Delfast is currently considering adding this e-bike to its production line.
