The 220kV/56.5MVA large-scale energy-saving rolling iron core traction transformer jointly developed by the Changzhou Pacific Power Equipment Group, the School of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, and China Railway Engineering Design Consulting Group Co., Ltd. passed the technical review chaired by the China National Railway Corporation. It is agreed that the key technologies developed for high-voltage, large-capacity, energy-saving core traction transformers have reached internationally advanced levels.
Rail transit traction transformer is a special-purpose power transformer and it is one of the most critical equipments for electrified railway projects. It is known as the "heart" of electrified railways. In the late 1990s, Japan, Sweden, and other countries developed a three-dimensional coil core transformer with high-efficiency, energy-saving and environmental protection features. Since 2003, China's three-dimensional coil core transformers have become increasingly popular, especially in transmission and distribution systems, and can be used to mass produce coiled core transformers up to 35 kV. However, the study of 110-220kV class three-dimensional coil core transformers commonly used on railways is still in a void on a global scale.
“To carry out special studies on the energy-saving and intelligent technology of traction transformers for large-scale rail transits, we did it at the right time.” Gao F East, Chairman of Changzhou Pacific Power Equipment Group, said that in 2015, the project was supported by China Railway Corporation. , Changzhou Pacific Electric Power Equipment Group, Southwest Jiaotong University and China Railway Engineering Design Consulting Group Co., Ltd. jointly developed successfully. 220kV/56.5MVA ultra-low-loss, large-capacity, energy-saving and environmentally friendly intelligent core rail transit traction transformer adopts intelligent manufacturing technology to solve the core winding, core annealing and transformer assembly movement in the production process of high-voltage coil core traction transformers. In other issues, the no-load loss is reduced by 50%, the noise is reduced by 20dB, and the cost is reduced by 15%. At the same time, through the integration of sensing and monitoring equipment on the transformer, an early warning analysis model and an empirical knowledge base are established. In the field of railway traction power supply, the intelligent early warning analysis of the entire operation of the transformer is first realized, and the failure rate of the railway special transformer is greatly reduced.
It is understood that Changzhou Pacific Electric Power Equipment Group is currently the only company in the world that has mastered the design and manufacturing technology for 220kV grade core transformers and is the only company with independent R&D and production processing equipment. According to estimates, China’s railways can save 840 million kWh (degrees) of electricity each year if they use rolled-core traction transformers. This alone can save nearly 1 billion yuan in electricity costs. When the relevant technology is mature, if it is promoted to AT transformers and power transformers, it can save more than 1 billion kWh of electricity each year and save 800 million yuan in electricity costs.
