Orland FPD 2-11 alarm fire 8/13/11
The Orland Fire Protection District responded to a serious structure fire this afternoon, which escalated to a second alarm. Karl Klotz and Tim Olk were both on the scene and captured several powerful images of the incident. Karl provided the following detailed account:
> "Orland FPD 2-11 alarm fire at 9381 Bradford Ln, Orland Park, IL. Truck Co. 4 arrived to find heavy fire on the first and second floors of one unit in a four-unit townhome complex. Truck Co. 4 began by attacking the fire in sector 1 with a 2½-inch line, while Engine Co. 2 tackled sector 4 with a deck gun. The fire extended into the attic of the unit in sector 2, and the roof over the main fire unit collapsed. Several departments responded, including Orland FPD, Tinley Park, Midlothian, Oak Forest, Country Club Hills, Manhattan FPD, Mokena FPD, Crestwood, Palos FPD, Palos Heights FPD, and Homer FPD."
