Product Design & Manufacturing Collection gets massive additions--at no additional cost

Simulation and CAM are now part of a more complete and connected product development process

I've spent a lot of time speaking with manufacturers across industries like automotive, industrial machinery, and consumer goods. One thing has become increasingly clear: they want a simpler, more integrated software experience. They’re looking for one unified set of tools that work seamlessly together—so designers can pass 3D models to engineers for simulation and testing, and engineers can then hand off the final designs to production teams for machining.

A great example is the UK-based supercar manufacturer Briggs Automotive Company (BAC). They need to turn their elegant design concepts into real-world engineering solutions that can be digitally simulated and manufactured on CNC machines. To do this efficiently, they must avoid the endless file conversions and repairs that come with traditional workflows—and the associated risks in change management.

In response to this growing demand, we’ve made a major update to our Product Design Collection. Until now, it was focused mainly on design and engineering. But we're expanding it by adding simulation and CAM tools—making it the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection. This new version gives teams everything they need to go from concept to production in one integrated platform.

We’ve added two powerful tools: Nastran In-CAD for world-class simulation and Autodesk HSM for top-tier CAM. These were previously available separately and would cost over $7,000 per year combined. But because we believe in the value of an integrated workflow, we’re including them at no extra cost. The total price remains just $2,460 per year in the U.S.

With this update, the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection now offers all the professional-grade tools needed for end-to-end product development. It’s a full suite of 2D and 3D CAD, CAE, and CAM applications designed to support every stage of the process—from initial design to manufacturing planning.

This update also enhances the Inventor experience. Now, Inventor Professional users get access to simulation, 5-axis CAM, and factory planning tools—all fully integrated within the same interface. It's the most powerful Inventor offering yet.

Subscribers also benefit from a future-ready toolset. While not every update will be this significant, we’re committed to continuous improvements, including integrating disruptive tools like Fusion 360 and adding emerging technologies such as generative design.

You still get AutoCAD, Navisworks, Vault, ReCap Pro, 3ds Max, Factory Design Utilities, and many more. The collection is comprehensive and built to grow with your needs.

As Ian Briggs, Co-Founder and Design Director of BAC, recently said: “We use Autodesk’s manufacturing software for every step of our development process—design, engineering, fabrication, visualization, you name it. Adding simulation and CAM to the Product Design & Manufacturing Collection without extra cost is a huge advantage for us and other manufacturers who need a complete, integrated solution.”

The Product Design & Manufacturing Collection is available worldwide and supports more than eight languages, including English, German, Japanese, French, and Chinese.
