The rapid rise of sea salt auto parts industry

Sunderland Fasteners (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., a company that invested $12.5 million, recently began full-scale production. The factory specializes in high-strength automotive fasteners and other auto parts, with an annual output of 1.09 million tons and projected sales of 250 million yuan. As the domestic car market continues to grow, the auto parts industry in Haiyan has experienced rapid development. Currently, there are 102 companies operating in the sector, and last year, total sales revenue surpassed 800 million yuan. Several key products, such as automotive bulbs, jacks, and pipe joints, have become well-known production bases both domestically and internationally. Products like ignition coils, friction materials, and vertical jacks rank among the top in China. Active private and foreign investment has become a major driver for the growth of the industry. Haiyan Xianglong Bearing Co., Ltd., which produces automotive bearings, has invested around 40 million yuan in expanding its facilities and upgrading technology. The company has been growing rapidly, with annual output value increasing by 30 million yuan each year and is on track to reach the hundred-million-yuan level soon. Meanwhile, companies like Jiaxing Haishu Electronics, Yilin Electronics, and Jinlida Electronics are focusing on technological innovation. Their products, including car stereos and refrigerators, have gained a strong presence in international markets, with expected sales between 150 million and 200 million yuan. Jiaxing Zhenda Automobile Standard Parts Co., Ltd. has invested over 7 million yuan to produce high-strength, high-precision connecting rod bolts for automotive engines, with an annual output of 2 million pieces. Haiyan Zhenda Auto Parts Co. has allocated millions of yuan to develop an annual capacity of 5,000 tons of automobile brakes and 3.3 million pieces of rubber parts. Sunderland Fasteners, one of India's largest auto parts traders, is also optimistic about Haiyan’s auto parts industry and plans to establish a TVS Group manufacturing base in the region. With increased R&D efforts, the technical level of Haiyan's auto parts has significantly improved. In the past year alone, 19 products from Haiyan, including heavy-duty vehicle steel wire air Filter tubes, power amplifiers, DQ171 ignition coils, and wheel hub bearings, were recognized as new provincial and municipal products. Additionally, in-magnetic DC motors from Haiyan Xusheng Co. and exhaust gas purifiers from Haiyan Dadongnan Science and Technology Development Company were included in national-level innovation programs. Jiaxing Guangtai Lighting Co., in collaboration with Fudan University's Institute of Electric Light Sources, developed a 35-watt metal halide light source with independent intellectual property rights. Its technical specifications meet international standards, marking a breakthrough in reducing reliance on imported headlights for high-end vehicles. The company now ranks among the top producers in China's automotive bulb industry. Currently, several Haiyan-based auto parts products and companies have established strong market positions. The "Haijian" brand ignition coils lead in sales within the domestic auto repair market. Huaqiang Resin Co., Ltd. holds the second position nationwide in friction material sales. Xitangqiao Town, known as the "hometown of jacks in China," serves as a key production and export base for automotive maintenance tools in the province. Sea Salt pipe fittings companies account for 80% of the domestic heavy-duty vehicle market and are entrusted by the State Ministry of Machinery to draft and revise standards for pipe joints in 74 countries. The international competitiveness of Haiyan auto parts continues to grow. Products such as automotive bulbs, rubber parts, oil pump motors, motor poles, ignition coils, car audio systems, and bearings are widely exported to Western Europe, North America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
