Garage fire in Oak Park, 10-6-15
Hey everyone,
This is coming straight from Josh Boyajian. Earlier today, there was a garage fire over in Oak Park around 1113 South Taylor Street. Unfortunately, I didn’t get there in time to catch any of the action, but I managed to snap some photos of their frontline engines—602 and 603—as well as their brand-new tower ladder, 631, and their shiny new buggy, 620. These shots might not be action-packed, but they still give you a good look at the equipment they have on hand.
Here’s what caught my eye:
First up, we’ve got the Oak Park Fire Department's command car parked at the scene. It looks sharp, doesn’t it? Definitely something you’d want on your side if you ever found yourself in a tight spot.
Next to that, there’s one of their fire engines. You can tell it’s been out working hard, but it still looks ready for anything. The attention to detail on these vehicles is impressive—they’re not just tools for fighting fires; they’re symbols of the dedication and professionalism of the firefighters who use them.
Then there’s the fire truck itself. It’s parked strategically, probably waiting for its next move. The way it’s positioned shows how important precision is when it comes to firefighting operations. Every little detail matters, whether it’s the placement of the vehicle or the tools at hand.
I also managed to grab a couple more shots of other rigs. One thing that stood out was how well-maintained everything looked. Even though these vehicles were likely covered in soot from recent operations, they still exuded an air of readiness and reliability.
Finally, another angle of the command car. It’s almost like it’s standing guard, ready to step in whenever necessary. There’s something comforting about knowing there are professionals equipped with such high-quality gear out there protecting our communities.
All these images were taken by yours truly—Josh Boyajian—and I hope they give you a better idea of what the Oak Park Fire Department brings to the table. While I may not have made it in time to witness the actual blaze firsthand, getting these photos feels like a small victory in itself.
Take care, stay safe, and remember that behind every great piece of machinery is an even greater team of people who know how to put it to work!
