It is understood that Zotye currently has five independently developed engines. According to the plan, from 2018, Zotye will gradually introduce a series of new powertrains such as 1.2-2.0T. The new generation of engines will be fully equipped with turbocharged and in-cylinder direct injection technology to cover different grades.
At present, the engines equipped by Zotye's models are mainly supplied by Mitsubishi, SAIC and the three parties of Ruizhan Technology, which is jointly owned by Zhongtai. The engines produced by Ruizhan Technology include 1.5-liter, 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engines and 1.5T and 1.8T turbocharged engines, respectively matched to Zotye Z360, Damai X5 Value Edition, Z560, Z700, Damai X7. In addition to the self-produced engines mentioned above, Zotye has purchased a variety of power from other domestic engine suppliers, including the 2.0T engine (4G63T) and the Damai X5 upgrade version, SR7 and other models used in the T600 2.0T and SR9 models. The 1.5T engine (4A91T) is sourced from Shenyang Aerospace Mitsubishi; the 1.5T and 2.0T engines of the Zotye T600 1.5T and the upcoming T700 2.0T-GDI are sourced from SAIC.
At present, the Zotye X5 Platinum Edition is equipped with a 1.5T engine code-named JT15T. The engine has been re-trained by Zotye and produced by Sanneng Power. The power and fuel economy have been improved.
In terms of the vehicle platform, Zotye completed the development of the three major technology platforms A, B and L, and developed the Z series, T series, SR series and Damai series products on these platforms.
