Yunnan Luliang natural gas well injection well succeeded

At 10:10 on the 3rd, after a long and intense operation, the natural gas blowout in Luliang County, Yunnan Province, was successfully controlled. The incident had raised concerns among local residents and authorities, but with careful planning and swift action, the situation was brought under control without any casualties. At the site, an official from Sinopec Southern Exploration and Development Branch told reporters that the blowout's intensity began to decrease early in the morning of the 3rd. Seizing the opportunity, the team decided to implement the first well-killing plan ahead of schedule, starting the operation around 9:00 AM. They worked quickly to regain control, and by 10:10, the initial attempt to kill the well was completed, though it was not entirely successful at first. Reporters on the scene observed several workers wearing protective gear, continuously spraying water on the wellhead to prevent any potential hazards. After the well was finally secured, some staff members were still conducting inspections to ensure everything remained stable. Xu Desheng, the deputy county magistrate of Luliang County, who was directly involved in the emergency response, told Xinhua News Agency, "Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all parties involved, the preparations were largely completed in advance, allowing us to start the operation several hours earlier than planned. There were no injuries at the well or the killing site, and no risks were present." Xu also informed reporters that the affected residents would be allowed to return to their homes in the afternoon of the 3rd. He added that the necessary follow-up measures, including environmental monitoring and safety checks, would continue in the coming days to ensure the area was fully secure.

PFA Products
