Box Alarm in West Chicago, 4-15-15
From what I gathered from John Tulipano's account:
Around 6:25 AM on Wednesday, the West Chicago Fire Protection District received a call about a dryer fire (which hadn't yet spread) at 704 Washington Street, inside the General Mills plant. When emergency crews arrived and took a closer look, they discovered an enormous dryer—essentially the length of several semi-trailers lined up end-to-end—engulfed in flames on the third floor. The situation quickly escalated, prompting a general alarm upgrade followed by a MABAS mutual aid box alarm to bring in extra personnel.
The fire was brought under control in roughly 45 minutes. From a photographer's standpoint, there wasn't a lot to capture dynamically, but John managed to snap some shots of the operation.
