New ambulance for Hinsdale

I recently came across some interesting updates about the Hinsdale Fire Department’s fleet. Martin Nowak shared that they’ve got a brand-new rig rolling in—specifically, a 2013 Ford F-450 customized as an ambulance, designated as Unit 1015. This shiny newcomer has officially taken over the role from their trusty yet aging 1999 International 4700, which was paired with a Horton module. As for what became of the old ambulance, I don’t have all the details, but I did spot Engine 1012—a 1987 Pierce model—at the Public Works Garage. It’s always fascinating to see how these vehicles evolve over time. To give you a better look at this new addition, here are some photos taken by Martin Nowak himself. The first shot shows the ambulance head-on, highlighting its clean lines and professional appearance. Another angle reveals more of its sleek design, while the third photo zooms in on the rear section, showcasing additional features like storage compartments and equipment mounts. And finally, there’s a fourth image that captures a slightly different perspective, giving us a sense of its overall presence. These updates really highlight the ongoing efforts to modernize emergency services in Hinsdale. It’s exciting to see how they’re upgrading their fleet to ensure they can continue providing top-notch service to the community. I hope these new vehicles will help keep everyone safer for years to come!
