Wheeling house fire 7-23-14

Residents in the neighborhood reached out to the Wheeling Fire Department on Wednesday evening, reporting what sounded like an explosion in the kitchen at 293 Lincoln Road. When the first officer arrived, they noticed smoke coming from the house and learned that one individual required immediate medical assistance. Firefighters were on the scene within minutes and confirmed that there was an active fire inside the split-level home.
An ambulance quickly transported the affected civilian to a nearby hospital, and the incident was escalated to a full-scale working fire response. Firefighters worked efficiently, using two interior lines to swiftly extinguish the flames.
In addition to the Wheeling Fire Department, units from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Northbrook also joined the effort. They brought with them two engines, two ambulances, a truck, and two chief officers to manage the situation effectively.
