Bridgeview Fire Department Station 2
The Bridgeview Fire Department in Mabas Division 21 hasn't been officially added to our website just yet. However, Martin Nowak has generously shared some images from Bridgeview Station 2, giving us a sneak peek at some of their impressive apparatus. These photos provide a closer look at the equipment that helps keep the community safe.
One of the standout pieces showcased is Bridgeview's Engine 405, which stands as a testament to both durability and design. This particular engine was built in 2003 and features a Crimson body mounted on a Spartan Metro Star chassis. The attention to detail in its construction is evident, making it a reliable workhorse for firefighting operations.
Another notable vehicle is the Ambulance 406, a 2012 model built on a Ford F-450 4×4 chassis by Wheeled Coach. This ambulance combines functionality with modern technology, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care while en route to the hospital. Its sleek design and robust build make it an essential part of the department's fleet.
For brush fires and other outdoor emergencies, the department relies on Brush 407, constructed on a sturdy 2001 Chevy Silverado pickup. This vehicle is designed for agility and performance, allowing firefighters to navigate challenging terrains with ease. Its rugged appearance matches its purpose, embodying readiness for any situation.
The department also maintains a spare ambulance, Ambulance 426, which is a Type III unit from Road Rescue, installed on a 1999 Ford E-450 chassis. While slightly older than some of the newer models, it remains fully functional and serves as a reliable backup when needed.
Even some of the department's older vehicles continue to play a role in their operations. For instance, Engine 415, dating back to 1986 and built by Darley on a KME chassis, still sees active service. Despite its age, it remains a critical asset due to regular maintenance and upgrades.
Beyond the vehicles themselves, the Bridgeview Fire Department also maintains an old Type II ambulance that continues to be utilized by the Emergency Medical Services (EMA). This vehicle, while not as advanced as newer models, still holds significant value for certain types of calls where a more basic setup suffices.
Finally, outside the station, there's a touching tribute to the FDNY in the form of a commemorative sign. It serves as a reminder of the brotherhood among firefighters across different jurisdictions and the shared commitment to protecting lives and property.
These images not only highlight the impressive array of equipment available to the Bridgeview Fire Department but also underscore the dedication and professionalism of its members. As we eagerly await the official addition of the department to our site, these glimpses into their operations offer a compelling preview of what makes them such a vital part of the local emergency response network.
