Wheeling house fire 7-23-14
This just came in from Larry Shapiro:
Residents of 293 Lincoln Road called the Wheeling Fire Department on Wednesday evening, reporting an explosion in the kitchen. The first responding officer arrived to find smoke billowing from the house and learned that one person required medical assistance. Firefighters arrived shortly after and confirmed the fire inside the split-level home.
An ambulance quickly transported the injured civilian to a nearby hospital, and the fire alarm was escalated to a working fire status. Firefighters efficiently extinguished the flames using two interior lines.
In addition to the Wheeling Fire Department, units from Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Northbrook also responded to the scene. Alongside the additional support, two engines, two ambulances, a truck, and two chief officers from Wheeling were dispatched to the location.
